Overview
Before you start adding tracks and building playlists, take a minute to configure TrackDen for the way you work. Settings live under the gear icon in the dashboard’s left navigation and are grouped by topic.
Opening Settings
Click the TrackDen icon in your toolbar.
Click Settings in the left-hand navigation.
Update the relevant fields and click Save on the section you edited.
Currency & locale
These determine the currency prices are converted into and how dates and numbers display.
- Home currency — the currency every track price is converted into for display.
- Locale — controls number, date and currency formatting.
- Exchange rates — used when converting prices from a track’s source currency into your home currency. After changing your home currency, click Configure currency exchange rates to update the rates so prices display correctly.
- Display prices in home currency — toggle on to show all prices in your home currency rather than the source currency.
Platforms
Set your usernames for each supported platform. These are used when syncing your cart, wishlist or collection.
- Bandcamp username — used to pull your Bandcamp cart, wishlist and collection.
- Beatport username — used to pull your Beatport cart, hold-bin and purchases.
Setting a different username lets you pull in someone else’s publicly available wishlist or collection — handy for discovery.
Audio
- Enable audio preview — toggles the per-track audio player on or off in playlists.
When enabled, every track row shows an inline player you can scrub through. Disable it if you prefer a cleaner playlist view. See the audio player doc for more.
Tags & metadata
- Automatically extract tags — when enabled, new tracks are added with the genre/style tags from the source platform.
Notifications
- Hide notifications after — number of seconds before in-app notifications dismiss themselves automatically.
Browser sync
- Sync changes to Google — when enabled, TrackDen mirrors your library across browsers signed into the same Google account.
You also need to switch on extension syncing in your Google account itself. See browser syncing for the full setup.
Backup & restore
Schedule automatic backups, or export and restore by hand. The full walkthrough lives in Backup & restore.
- Enable automatic backups — creates a backup file on a schedule you pick (daily, weekly or monthly).
- Export backup — download a snapshot of your library, playlists and settings as a file.
- Restore backup — upload a backup file and pick which parts to restore.
Restoring settings from another device
If you have browser syncing enabled on two devices, you can pull your settings across.
Switch on Sync changes to Google in TrackDen Settings on each device. Also enable extension syncing on your Google account.
On the device you want to update, open Settings and click Restore from sync.
Your settings from the other device overwrite the current device’s settings.
FAQs
You probably changed your home currency without configuring exchange rates. Open Settings and click Configure currency exchange rates to update them.
No. Exchange rates are display-only inside TrackDen. The actual charge is in the track’s source currency — set by the artist on Bandcamp, or fixed on Beatport.
Make sure Sync changes to Google is on in TrackDen on both devices, and that extension syncing is enabled in your Google account.
